Danzarese, a weekend with 1,500 dancers from across Italy: "A great celebration for the public too."

The Davide Ancilotto Sports Center in Arese hosts the fifteenth edition of the event dedicated to all dance styles on Saturday and Sunday.

Plié, pirouettes, headspins, and choreographies of all styles. The Danzarese Sports Center in Arese is transformed into a large stage for the fifteenth edition of Danzarese, scheduled for the weekend of March 14 and 15. For two days, more than 1,500 dancers from all over Italy and Switzerland, ready to test themselves and show off their best moves in front of a jury of experts, will perform in various competitions in their styles. The goal is to win, but, as artistic director Enrica Farina explains, "Danzarese isn't just a competition; it's a huge celebration that includes dancers and the audience."

There are several competing categories: hip hop, ballet, modern, contemporary, choreographic composition, and improvisation. A jury of prominent figures from the dance world will judge the performances. Among them are Byron, an internationally renowned hip hop dancer; Mia Molinari, a dancer now a teacher, who has also appeared on television programs such as Serata d’Onore, Buona Domenica, and La Corrida; and Macia del Prete, a choreographer who contributed to the opening ceremony of the Milan Cortina Olympics.

"It's fantastic to see so many passionate people come together in a moment of enormous enthusiasm," comments Stefano Colantuono, president of SG Sport, organizer of the event, made possible thanks to the patronage of the Lombardy Region.

The first day of the event, Saturday, will be dedicated in particular to the category that most enthralls the public: hip hop. Dancers of all ages will compete in energetic and creative choreography, and the winners of the under-14 category will go home with a very special prize: a scholarship awarded directly by a jury member to participate in workshops or advanced courses. The day will conclude with one of the most anticipated moments, the dance battle: a one-on-one duel in which each dancer has thirty seconds to improvise a dance to an unfamiliar tune. Only the one who wins over the jury will be allowed to remain on stage and continue the challenge. Participation in this event is truly open to everyone. "You can even register on the spot," explains Colantuono, "so even dancers of other styles can test themselves and try something new."

And even those who don't dance seem to really appreciate Danzarese. "This is our fifteenth edition and we continue to fill the sports center year after year. Tickets are sold out, dancers have registered more than ever, and we expect the arena to be packed," Farina concludes, "because the energy of the dancers and the rhythm of the music engage everyone."
